You, God, and religion
Author :Chang Kai-Chi
You have mentioned that to me:
"Since I believe in X religion, I finally found out that my life was arranged by God. I regretted I was so ignorant before that I wasted a lot of precious life. I have known God until now. God is everything to me, and the religion is all about my life."
Ok! In the matter you said; there are three main points: you, God, religion.
These three points are originally independent and irrelevant. What can be determined is that you and religion do exist separately. As for the God, you believed in this religion and this religion tells you the existence of this God. Then you may believe in the existence of God right now, or you have finally believed the existence of God after careful pondering.
This religion says that the existence of the God and that you believe the God does exist. These two things are completely different from "Does this God actually exist?"
You are still you!
God is the God!
Religion is still the religion!
So you are not the god, and god is not you.
You are not the religion, and Religion is not you.
God will not be everything to you, and religion will not be the whole of your life. God is just a small piece of all the things in your mind, and religion is only a small part of your life.
Even if I believe that what you said is honest, there are some parts in your body more honesty than the idea and statement you made about God.
Look at your knees, they were congested and reddish, I think you just knelt and prayed a moment ago.
If you were kneeling on a clean, icy, hard granite floor, no matter how pious you are, your knees were pressed on the slate by nearly two-thirds of your weight without soft a cushioning.
The bones pressed on the thin layers of muscle skin and nerves, and your knees continued to pulse nerves, telling your brain: pain! It hurts!
Yes! Your knee is completely honest, it hurts, and it will tell you honestly: it hurts! It will honestly remind you that it is not good for the body to be in such a position on such a hard floor, and the longer it is, the worse it is.
Your knee is only a part of your body, but it is also a very important part. Although you think that "God is everything for you, religion is all of your life", so you often pray earnestly, but your knees don’t agree with you that it just has to succumb to your coercive command. What's worse is that your knees are too honest. Neither does it agree with that God is everything about it, nor does it agree that religion is everything about it.
However, your knee (or your body) does not betray you. It is your paranoid thought that betrayed you and betrayed the rationality and wisdom that you should have.
You should remember; you are just you!
God is God, and religion is religion. God and religion may be related to you. However, you can have nothing to do with them. Even if they are related to you, they will not be everything to you and they are not the whole of your life.
